Dissociatives

These drugs cause the user to dissociate during their use, giving the feeling that they have left their body. This dissociation can cause the feeling invincibility and lead them to engage in dangerous and risky behaviors.

The most common dissociative drugs are ketamine, (sometimes call Special K or K) and dextromethorphan, sometimes called DXM, which is found in many medications.

Did you know that the side-effects of these drugs can be even more dangerous when combined with other types of drugs, specifically alcohol, causing brain damage or death?

Other side-effects include:

  • suicidal thoughts
  • depression and anxiety
  • visual hallucinations
  • memory loss
  • slurred speech
  • delusions
  • dependency
