Feeling Depressed

By December 24, 2018July 18th, 2019No Comments

I am sad.

Consider This

Thank you for sharing your feeling and reaching out to Teen Central.  When you are feeling sad, sometimes it helps to look through other stories of teens who are dealing with similar situations and see what helped them.  Teen Central has stories as well as supports that you might find helpful.

If you are sad, it might be helpful to find someone to talk to.  A trusted adult, friend of the family, family member themselves.  If you cannot find someone to talk to consider calling a teen support phone line. Many are there for you 24 hours a day.  There are support lines listed on the Teen Central website.

Also, try to be aware of when you are starting to feel down and engage in an activity to help you improve your mood.  As hard as it might be, engaging in something can make you feel better.  Any kind of exercise, even a walk, releases endorphins in the brain that improve mood.  Also, allowing yourself to relax and enjoy a recreation/ leisure activity may be just what you need to get your mind off of the more stressful thoughts.

Help Yourself
